Strategic discussion of an emergency scenario and a crisis scenario
Background
A global bank commissioned 3-core to organise two exercises, one simulating an emergency situation and one simulating a crisis situation. In this way, the existing plans are supposed to be tested. Following the exercises, an evaluation will be carried out by 3-core GmbH to identify potential for improvement.
Solution
We started the implementation process by reviewing the business continuity plan and the crisis management manual. After the review, feedback was provided on the plans.
A script for the exercise was developed and additional coordination meetings followed to ensure that the scenario met the client’s expectations. Finally, it was decided to conduct a discussion-based exercise as it empowers the team to reflect on critical decisions based on realistic scenarios and review the plans.
Finally, a report was written summarising the key aspects of the exercise. This included a description of the scenarios, observations made during the exercise, potential for improvement and the resulting findings and recommendations to optimise the processes.
