Development of an emergency and crisis management manual and emergency processes for a regional supplier
Background
A company wanted to create a manual for emergency and crisis management (ERM) and then define emergency processes to be prepared for a variety of scenarios. The aim was to create a series of structured processes that would enable a quick response in an emergency and support the crisis team.
Solution
The 3-core realised the project by conducting six interviews with relevant stakeholders to identify specific requirements and incorporate best practices. Based on our advice, the manual was customised and made available to the company as a practical, ready-to-use solution.
In addition, the 3-core consultants developed emergency processes for critical scenarios such as supply bottlenecks due to service provider failures, power outages, natural disasters and IT security incidents by interviewing the different departments. This involved defining scopes of application, objectives for emergency operations as well as emergency preparedness and immediate measures. To facilitate decision-making in the event of an emergency, emergency trigger points were jointly defined to support the emergency and crisis team. The emergency process was then described in detail by recording reporting channels, work instructions and required resources.
The close collaboration between the 3-core consultants and the specialist departments ensured that the processes were practical and feasible. Finally, the completed emergency processes got presented and successfully implemented.
