Status quo of alarm and hazard prevention planning with a joint discussion of the plan

Background

Our client needed an analysis of the current status of its alarm and hazard prevention planning. The aim was to identify weaknesses and possible optimisation potential. Based on these findings, the crisis management manual would be revised and finalised. In the final step, it is intended to carry out an exercise in which a possible emergency is discussed.

Solution

The project was launched with a kick-off meeting with the client to coordinate the main goals of the project and the organisational framework. Afterwards, the provided documents were reviewed and the current status of the emergency management, in particular the alarm and hazard prevention planning, was analysed and recommendations were given. The emergency manual was finalised by defining all processes and measures and developing them in a practice-oriented manner. At the same time, an MS Teams channel was created and structured for the emergency team.

The next step was to develop a script for the emergency discussion. The focus here was on critical decision-making based on a realistic scenario. The planned exercise by 3-core was then performed in order to test the contents of the manual under realistic conditions, to strengthen the new members of the emergency team in their roles and to make specific suggestions for improvement during an emergency.

After the exercise, a report was produced to summarise the key learnings and recommendations. This report was sent to the client to be reviewed and then discussed in detail in a feedback meeting.
