Recording the processes in the context of BCM
Background
Our customer wanted to implement a new business continuity management system due to increased legal requirements, out of self-interest and due to requirements from suppliers and customers. The first step was to create an overview of all critical business processes in normal operation to create the basic building block for an efficient BCM system.
Solution
We started the process mapping with the help of our in-house developed BCM tool. Through interviews with the individual departments of the core processes and support processes, we were able to record all BCM-relevant processes in the necessary level of detail.
Once the individual business processes had been comprehensively recorded, the various processes were linked by visualising all process dependencies.
This comprehensive and interlinked process mapping created the basis for implementing an efficient BCM system.
